2017 Accuracy International Long Range Classic

The Precision Rifle Series 2017 season opener was held this past weekend March 11-12, 2017 at CORE Shooting solutions in Baker, Florida. This was the 2nd annual Accuracy International Long range classic. I and Caleb Gidcumb from Team HLR arrived at CORE Friday prior to the match. After getting signed in and the layout of the amazing shooting facility that is CORE. We made our way to the 100 Yard zero range and confirmed the HLR 6 Dashers were stilling hammering. Friday afternoon was spent shooting and dry firing off of the CORE barricades. Core shooting solutions is one of the most well thought out and shooter friendly ranges in the country. A shooter can walk the entire firing points and move from a 300 and 500 Yard mover to a 800 yard unknown distance range and several more firing positions. The obstacles and barricades at CORE while not easy are top notch and well maintained. The AI Long range classic consisted of 10 difficult and fun stages. On day one shooters had a 2 minute time limit per stage and no equipment restrictions. On day two the shooter shot the same 10 stages again except time limits were shaved by 30 seconds and shooters could only complete the stage with one shooting bag. This made for some interesting shooting positions and fast pace. The Big Horn actions and Hawkhill barrels were serious work horses. Our team 6 Dashers shot amazing for the entire match and never bobbled. The Vortex Razors in Warne mounts on each gun were spot on the entire match. Our MK Machining throw levers and levels proved to be match worthy standing 2 days of hard use. HLR would like to thank the PRS and CORE shooting solutions for putting on an unbelievable match. We would also like to thank all the match sponsors that contributed to the wonderful prize table. Caleb Gidcumb finished 8th place and I finished 13th place out of 121 shooters that completed.
