Ozark Mountain Long Range Match
The Ozark Long range match was held in Arkansas out of Aplena , AR. The directors Jeff Badley and John Keeter provided an unbelievable venue for a great match. Ranges varied from 100 Yards to 1000 Yards with targets engaged from many different and awkward positions. The wind was very rough gusting up to 25 MPH. The way the range was setup when the lower 7 stages were finished the shooters moved to the upper range with a complete different wind direction. Jeff and John did a great job keeping everything moving with very little down time. The toughest stage was a 792 Yard full IPSC target engaged off 2 concrete barricades. Positioning on this stage seemed solid with a Armageddon gear large bag on the rear for support. The big challenge was the wind calls and a full value crosswind ranging from 12-18 mph. My best stage was of course a prone stage! The headhunter stage was prone engaging 5 headhunter targets (6” circle) at 385, 400, and 425 through and over a car. The wind call on this stage was zero due to the direction that you were shooting. I cleaned the stage with 1 bonus point. Justin did a great job with pictures from the match. I look forward to many more matches at this venue! What a place!
